My opinion on Garnier's BB Cream

Recently i was sent a sample of Garnier's BB Cream in the post. The Garnier website was giving away free samples which consisted in a small box with three sachets of the product and £1 off your next purchase off the BB Cream or the Tinted Eye Roll On which I have already done a review on (here). They only had one colour left in light, which was lucky as this was my colour :) The product claims to Even, Cover, Illuminate, Hydrate and Protect with Spf15.

I was very happy when it came through the post, and decided to try it out the next morning as i was going out for the day and wanted to see if the product lasted on my skin, etc. Unfortunately I didn't get to see whether it lasted due to the fact that i wiped it off and decided to wear my usual foundation instead. Here's my reason why;
  •  The colour was very orange which isn't a good look, especially due to the fact i have very light skin.
  • Once I had put the product on and rubbed it into my skin the only difference it had made to my skin was make it have an orange tinge.
  • Due to the product being very thick it was quite hard to blend too.

Now this i my experience and everyone's are different and it may depend on the condition of your skin or the colour/tone. Once again i have had a bad experience with Garnier's makeup products, however I do love their moisturiser which I have also done a review on. Personally i would not choose to go out and pay £10 for this product, or even use this product if it was given to me for free. Thanks for reading my opinion on this product and I hope it has helped some of you out there.

A few purchases...

So today i went to Boots to pick up a few bits but ended up buying a few extra things due to the sale, No7 vouchers, etc. I just thought i'd share them with you.

Prestige Kabuki Brush

The reason i got this was because all Prestige items we half price. There wasn't much left, but i saw that the kabuki brush was £5.49 reduced to £2.75, so i decided to pick one up.

No7 eyeshadow brushes

I then reaslised i had two £5 No7 vouchers in my bag so i picked up the Eyeshadow blend and contour brush and the Smokey eyeliner brush, which reminds me of a pencil brush.
Both brushes were £7.25, i paid £2.25.

17 makeup items

I printed off a voucher from one of the small machines in the store which gave you a free 17 shine on lipstick with any 17 product you buy.
I was on the lookout for a sheer/lightweight foundation as the Revlon colourstay was too heavy as my skin has been quite dry lately even thought its normally really oily. I decided to pick up the sheer moisture foundation in light. However when i got it home and tried it out i realised that it is quite orange and tends to get stuck in/on any imperfections so i don't think i'll be wearing it very often, if i do i'll have to mix it with my Revlon colourstay.

I then went to choose a free shine on lipstick but all of them seemed to be frosted which i don't like. However then i found a pink colour called Flirty which looked normal. When i got home i tested it and realised that it looks really similar to Beehive by 17 from the MirrorShine range, but this was alot more pigmented;

 Beehive is more sheer, so i prefer Flirty. Here are the colours next to one another;

(Flirty left, Beehive right)

If you like Beehive but would like a different formula i would suggest you check out Flirty.

Lush massage bar...

I first saw this 'Strawberry feels forever' massage bar mentioned in a favourite video on Youtube so i thought i would try it out. The idea of it leaving a glowing sheen on your skin whilst leaving you smelling like strwaberries was what encouraged me to buy it.

Here is my opinion;
Pros: It is Vegan, Lasts a long time, Very moisturising
Cons: Smells nothing like strawberry, Takes a long time to sink in

Wishlist...

These are a few things i have my eye on...

Tangle teezer
Sea salt spray

Mac melba blush

chantecaille lipstick - geranium

It's very unlikely i'll get all these products in the next few weeks but i'm definately going to pick up the tangle teezer from boots.

Garnier eye roll-on and concealer...

I picked this product up while it was on offer, for half the price. The whole purpose of this product is to cool the eye area to reduce puffiness and conceal dark circles. I find the roller ball very cooling and refreshing, however the concealer is very orange toned and dries very quickly which means it does not blend very well. I would recommend this product, however i would recommend you buy the one that does not conceal in the green bottle. I think people with medium and dark skin tones would benefit from this product more.
Pros: Very cooling and refreshing
Cons: Concealer is very orange against my pale skin

Benefit HighBeam dupe...

Not so long ago i came across 'HighLigths' in a shop called Bodycare in the UK just for £2-3. The highlight reminds me so much of Highbeam, the same effect/colour/size. Ive taken a few images below, they arn't too clear but i'm sure they will give you an idea as to what the product is like.

I would definately recommend this product, it's great if you are on a budget or just starting out with makeup to have a practice with.

John Freida Frizz Ease Serum (original)...

I use this serum straight after ive washed my hair. I definately notice a difference when i use this. It leaves my hair feeling smoother but doesn't make it at all greasy. This product is great as it comes in three types;
  • Original
  • Thermal and UV protectant
  • Extra strength

Another hair saviour of mine is coconut oil. You can get it for just £2 at Superdrug. It's almost like a leave in conditioner and leaved the hair very soft. You have to be careful not to apply too much though as it can make your hair greasy.
