My opinion on Garnier's BB Cream

Recently i was sent a sample of Garnier's BB Cream in the post. The Garnier website was giving away free samples which consisted in a small box with three sachets of the product and £1 off your next purchase off the BB Cream or the Tinted Eye Roll On which I have already done a review on (here). They only had one colour left in light, which was lucky as this was my colour :) The product claims to Even, Cover, Illuminate, Hydrate and Protect with Spf15.

I was very happy when it came through the post, and decided to try it out the next morning as i was going out for the day and wanted to see if the product lasted on my skin, etc. Unfortunately I didn't get to see whether it lasted due to the fact that i wiped it off and decided to wear my usual foundation instead. Here's my reason why;
  •  The colour was very orange which isn't a good look, especially due to the fact i have very light skin.
  • Once I had put the product on and rubbed it into my skin the only difference it had made to my skin was make it have an orange tinge.
  • Due to the product being very thick it was quite hard to blend too.

Now this i my experience and everyone's are different and it may depend on the condition of your skin or the colour/tone. Once again i have had a bad experience with Garnier's makeup products, however I do love their moisturiser which I have also done a review on. Personally i would not choose to go out and pay £10 for this product, or even use this product if it was given to me for free. Thanks for reading my opinion on this product and I hope it has helped some of you out there.

A few purchases...

So today i went to Boots to pick up a few bits but ended up buying a few extra things due to the sale, No7 vouchers, etc. I just thought i'd share them with you.

Prestige Kabuki Brush

The reason i got this was because all Prestige items we half price. There wasn't much left, but i saw that the kabuki brush was £5.49 reduced to £2.75, so i decided to pick one up.

No7 eyeshadow brushes

I then reaslised i had two £5 No7 vouchers in my bag so i picked up the Eyeshadow blend and contour brush and the Smokey eyeliner brush, which reminds me of a pencil brush.
Both brushes were £7.25, i paid £2.25.

17 makeup items

I printed off a voucher from one of the small machines in the store which gave you a free 17 shine on lipstick with any 17 product you buy.
I was on the lookout for a sheer/lightweight foundation as the Revlon colourstay was too heavy as my skin has been quite dry lately even thought its normally really oily. I decided to pick up the sheer moisture foundation in light. However when i got it home and tried it out i realised that it is quite orange and tends to get stuck in/on any imperfections so i don't think i'll be wearing it very often, if i do i'll have to mix it with my Revlon colourstay.

I then went to choose a free shine on lipstick but all of them seemed to be frosted which i don't like. However then i found a pink colour called Flirty which looked normal. When i got home i tested it and realised that it looks really similar to Beehive by 17 from the MirrorShine range, but this was alot more pigmented;

 Beehive is more sheer, so i prefer Flirty. Here are the colours next to one another;

(Flirty left, Beehive right)

If you like Beehive but would like a different formula i would suggest you check out Flirty.

Lush massage bar...

I first saw this 'Strawberry feels forever' massage bar mentioned in a favourite video on Youtube so i thought i would try it out. The idea of it leaving a glowing sheen on your skin whilst leaving you smelling like strwaberries was what encouraged me to buy it.

Here is my opinion;
Pros: It is Vegan, Lasts a long time, Very moisturising
Cons: Smells nothing like strawberry, Takes a long time to sink in

Wishlist...

These are a few things i have my eye on...

Tangle teezer
Sea salt spray

Mac melba blush

chantecaille lipstick - geranium

It's very unlikely i'll get all these products in the next few weeks but i'm definately going to pick up the tangle teezer from boots.

Garnier eye roll-on and concealer...

I picked this product up while it was on offer, for half the price. The whole purpose of this product is to cool the eye area to reduce puffiness and conceal dark circles. I find the roller ball very cooling and refreshing, however the concealer is very orange toned and dries very quickly which means it does not blend very well. I would recommend this product, however i would recommend you buy the one that does not conceal in the green bottle. I think people with medium and dark skin tones would benefit from this product more.
Pros: Very cooling and refreshing
Cons: Concealer is very orange against my pale skin

Benefit HighBeam dupe...

Not so long ago i came across 'HighLigths' in a shop called Bodycare in the UK just for £2-3. The highlight reminds me so much of Highbeam, the same effect/colour/size. Ive taken a few images below, they arn't too clear but i'm sure they will give you an idea as to what the product is like.

I would definately recommend this product, it's great if you are on a budget or just starting out with makeup to have a practice with.

John Freida Frizz Ease Serum (original)...

I use this serum straight after ive washed my hair. I definately notice a difference when i use this. It leaves my hair feeling smoother but doesn't make it at all greasy. This product is great as it comes in three types;
  • Original
  • Thermal and UV protectant
  • Extra strength

Another hair saviour of mine is coconut oil. You can get it for just £2 at Superdrug. It's almost like a leave in conditioner and leaved the hair very soft. You have to be careful not to apply too much though as it can make your hair greasy.

Favourite lipsticks...

Rimmel Volume Boost Glam 117

  • Tingling effect
  • Similar colour to Mac's Hue (my opinion)

No17 MirrorShine lipstick Beehive

  • Amazing glossy finish
  • Very moisturising
  • Affordable

Rimmel Moisture Renew Lipstick Vintage Pink

  • Pretty pink shade when dabbed on the lips
  • Very buildable colour/can be quite intense
  • Quite matte yet creamy

Exfobrusher wash review...

So i thought i'd do a review on this product. I purchased this quite a while back and no longer use it but i thought i'd do a review anyway. What made me buy it was the brush on the top. I was looking for something that would be good at getting into the pores and removing excess makeup. At night i cleansed and toned to take my makeup off then in the morning i would use this to wash my face with. This may sound disguisting but you can tell just how well it's working because the soap in the bristles turns into a grey/beige colour which is the makeup that i hadn't removed well enough. It left my face feeling really smooth. The consistancy of the soap inside wasn't great as it seemed to be very runny/watery. Although i would say its a great product as you can continue to use the brush with your prefered face wash. I would recommend this product.

Beauty on a budget...

I made a new discover recently, the Lacura concealer pen from Aldi. I just wanted to let you all know how great this product was for the price (£3.59). Not only is the product amazing but the packaging looks expensive too and is very sturdy. It comes in three different colours, a pink toned light colour, a yellow toned light colour and a tanned/medium colour. (I would have done a few swatched but the camera didn't pick them up which i guess proves that it is light reflecting)

Wilkinson Sword Intuition Razor...

When it comes to shaving i like to get it over and done with. Due to it being a regular thing, i like to find ways of making it less hassle. I don't have the sort of money to buy and epilator, so i found an alternative that would still be a great help. When i was out shopping a couple of months ago i noticed that these razors had been reduces, so i took advantage of that and decided to buy three. I bought two pink and a blue. The blue is for sensitive skin which is great. The amazing thing about these razors is that all you have to do is wet your skin then your ready to go. Not only does the razor have 4 blades but also has a bar of soap attatched. When running the razor up your leg it literally feels as though your running the bar of soap along your leg, its soooo smooth. I'm so glad i bought the three when they were on sale, however i would actually pay full price too. They are under £10 and save you alot of time in the shower. I would most definately recommend them!

My everyday moisturiser...

Garnier Body Intensive 7 Days moisturiser

This is my everyday go to moisturiser. When i get out the shower i alway cover myself in it. I thought i would buy the Honey one for Sensitive skin as i don't like using products on my body that contain strong perfumes and ingredients.

This leaves my skin feeling great, smelling sweet and it also sinks in quickly too which is a bonus. If you are looking for a great body moisturiser and you have sensitive skin i would recommend this :)
Would i recommend it? Yes

Very first Lush purchases...

Not too long ago i took a visit to Lush to purchase a few things as gifts. I couldn't help but buy myself something too as i have never tried the stuff from there before. I decided to buy a few things from the skin care range as i thought that i'd get the most use out of them. The shop assistants are very helpful, although i do think that if it wasn't for them i wouldn't have bought so much. As they take the time to try the products out on you one to one, it almost makes you feel bad if you don't purchase what they tested. (sorry for the poor quality pictures in advance)
Anyway, these are the things i decided to try out;
  • Enzymion face moisturiser
  • UltraBland face cleanser
  • Breath of Fresh Air toner
  • Dream Cream moisturiser

Dream Cream
I recently have been suffering with very dry skin on my legs so i was looking for a soothing moisturiser to help each the irritation. The woman in the shop told me that the product is very popular and that a woman that swore by it came in and bought 10 tubs a few days before! I was abit hesitant at first because the tubs are quite large (240g), and i didnt want to pay £10.75, when i only needed a small tub to try it out.
Pros: Nice thin consistency/easy to blend
Cons: Took quite a long time to absorb, hated the smell!
Recommend? No

UltraBland
£6.45 for 45g which i think is an ok amount as the consistancy is quite thick and moisturising, so it goes a long way. It removed all traces of makeup, and is actually quite relaxing to use due to the moisturising consistency. The only problem is though is that the only way to remove the cleanser off the face properly is with using wet/damp cotton pads. It can also take a long time to remove from the face too.
Pros: Nice, thick moisturising consistency, Removes tough eye makeup/gentle too.
Cons: Quite hard to remove due to the oils.
Recommend? Yes

Enzymion
I noticed that they had moisturisers that cater for all skin types. As i have oily skin i thought i would try out one for my skin as beforehand i was just using a moisturiser for all skin types. The price of this is quite high due to the the fact you only get 45g (£13.50). However, as it caters for my oily skin and claims to act as a makeup base too i thought i would try it out. I don't think there is anything special about this, it does leave the skin more matte compared to your adverage moisturiser and also has a nice lemony/energising smell but thats about it.
Pros: Smells good, sets the skin as a makeup base.
Cons: None except for price.
Recommend? Yes if you have oily skin

Breath of Fresh Air
£7.00 for 250g. I actually picked this up by misake, i wanted the one for oily skin but accidentally picked this one up by accident. This toner is very cooling and refreshing. It suggests to use it whilst in an air conditioned space where the skin may become quite dry and thight. I think this product would be great to take on holiday. I like the fact that it doesn't make the skin feel tight like many toners do.
Pros: Smells good, cooling.
Cons: None
Recommend? Yet if you have dry skin or are going to a warn country

This is just my own opinion that i wanted to share so please don't just go by my word, i would suggest doing more research before taking my advice as everyone has different preferences and different skin types. Thanks for reading :)
